Preschool Surprise Turns Into Full Circle Love Story

Engaged to be married this month, a young Texas man enlisted an entire preschool class to help surprise his fiancée with a bridal shower she will never forget.

Zoe Kampf walked into her preschool classroom at the Shlenker School in Houston expecting a normal day, but instead was greeted by children wearing floral garlands and bow ties. The students handed her a tiara and sash, surrounded by cookies and classroom decorations, while cheering on the celebration.

At the center of it all stood her soon to be husband, Sean Folloder, in the very room where the two first met as 4 year olds.

“When I walked in, I was really surprised,” Kampf told the Jewish Herald-Voice. “They had cookies and decorated the classroom. They gave me a sash and a veil and crown. It was really cute.”

The couple’s connection goes back decades. Folloder’s grandmother, Barbie Freedman, taught at Shlenker when both Zoe and Sean were students there as children. Years later, their paths crossed again at a summer camp in 2021, where Freedman was the camp director. She playfully encouraged their budding connection and suggested they go on a date.

Both now teachers themselves, Kampf works at the preschool while Folloder teaches geometry at a nearby high school. The pair got engaged on December 23, 2024, and are preparing to say “I do” any day now.

“They are a wonderful couple and really devoted to one another,” Freedman said. “It has been really fun to watch them grow up and grow together.”

“It was great to surprise her at school,” Folloder added. “She is such a great teacher and everyone, from her kids to their parents to the staff, loves her.”
