In Kansas, 13-year-old Noah spent his entire summer mowing lawns and doing chores, saving every penny for one big dream: a dirt bike of his own. It was a sacrifice of an entire inter-scholastic break, traded for the promise of pure joy and freedom on two wheels.
But when he finally made his purchase through Facebook Marketplace, his excitement was short-lived. The dirt bike was actually stolen property, tied to a 2023 storage-unit burglary in Wichita. Noah had no idea.
“He had no way of knowing. He did everything right, following the steps his dad taught him about making a fair deal,” wrote Glenn Timoteo, the dirt bike’s rightful owner. “Then came the knock on the door: police had to take it back. Noah had done nothing wrong, yet he lost both the bike and the money he worked so hard to earn.”
Timoteo knew Noah’s story deserved better. Referencing the criminal case, he launched a GoFundMe “to help Noah get the dirt bike he truly earned, and to show him that there’s still good in the world.”
“I remember the pride of working for the things I earned as a kid, and I don’t want him to lose that sense of pride or his belief that hard work and honesty still matter,” Timoteo shared. “Every contribution, big or small, helps get him back on two wheels.”
And the world agreed. At publishing time, donations had reached $3,275, already 55% of the goal.
It may not save a life, but for one hardworking teen, it’s a reminder that kindness and honesty can take you just as far as any dirt bike.
