For over a decade, Thor the rescue dog quietly waited behind the gates of the Sa Coma shelter in Ibiza, his loyal heart hoping for a home. Many feared he’d “end his days” there.
But then something magical happened, and it started with a luxury hotel invitation.

Joanna Ramonell, director of marketing at Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, had just launched Tails of Talamanca, a new program offering pampered stays for pups. “The inspiration was simple: dogs are part of the family,” she said. “It felt only natural to extend our hospitality to four-legged guests, too.”
She knew exactly who she wanted as her first VIP guest: Thor.

“Thor was found abandoned on the street when he was around two years old. Despite having a microchip, no owner could be traced,” Ramonell shared.
At Nobu, Thor dined on a gourmet dog menu, lounged in the sunshine, and slept soundly on a memory foam bed from the comfort of his private terrace. “He was a true connoisseur,” she laughed. “But what truly lit him up was the attention and affection he received from the team.”

The stay didn’t just win hearts, it changed lives. Media coverage of Thor’s luxurious retreat went viral. “The visibility from his visit allowed Thor’s charm to shine far beyond the hotel,” Ramonell said.
Within days, adoption inquiries poured in.

Now? Thor is living “a beautiful, free life in the Ibizan countryside, surrounded by love, nature, and three canine companions.”
After 10 long years, Thor is finally home.
