Love was in the air, and so was generosity.
When New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye tied the knot with his middle school sweetheart, Ann Michael Hudson, on June 21, the couple didn’t just say “I do.” They said, “Let’s give.”
The newlyweds celebrated their lakeside wedding in their North Carolina hometown with friends and family, surrounded by sunlight, laughter, and heartfelt vows. But after the party ended, the couple quietly did something extraordinary.
“They didn’t tell anybody, but they took their wedding gifts and sent them to the homeless and help centers down there,” said radio host and former Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak on 98.5 The Sports Hub. “Everything that they got, they forwarded it.”
Zolak, who shared the sweet scoop on July 8, revealed that the couple donated all their wedding gifts to local shelters and centers serving kids and families in need. “They did a lot of donating with the local kids’ shelters and stuff for the area he grew up, and some kids didn’t have [the right] size shoes, didn’t have some Christmas stuff,” he added.

The gesture was never meant to make headlines, it was simply how the couple chose to begin their marriage: with kindness.
Drake and Ann Michael, both 22, have been together since they were just 12 years old. After high school, they both attended the University of North Carolina, where Maye started building his football career. He proposed in January, with a sunset beach picnic and a flower-filled surprise. She said yes, and the rest, as they say, is Majically ever after.

On Instagram, the couple gave fans a peek into their dreamy wedding day. “What a night! Cheers to forever🥂 I love you!” Maye wrote. Hudson replied, “Best day ever!!!! I love you❤️❤️.”
It turns out, the best day ever for them became a better day for so many others.
