When life gives you airport delays, sometimes the best response is… dance! That’s exactly what travelers experienced thanks to Zumba instructor and Project Poderosa Ambassador, Yesi, who turned a gloomy wait into a full-on dance party at the airport.
Yesi, who posted the now-viral video with the caption “Tell me you’re a @zumba instructor without telling me you’re a Zumba instructor,” shared her mission to inspire movement, joy, and positivity wherever she goes. Her journey hasn’t always been easy—she’s been open about struggling to accept that she doesn’t have full control over her body, even while eating healthy and staying active. With lifelong medication and a focus on mental health, she shifted her goal to something simple but powerful: just move.
Finishing 2023 strong as a Project Poderosa Ambassador, Yesi uses her platform to educate and uplift women from all walks of life. She’s passionate about showing the positive impact of investing in ourselves, por dentro y por fuera, and plans to organize Latina health events in 2024 full of empowerment, knowledge, and lots of movement.
@fitgirlyesi When your stuck at the airport with @delta in Orlando airport due to weather but your a @Zumba Fitness Instructor leaving Convention and make a call to lighten up the mood 🥹 This was amazing to see the love we all have for ZUMBA!! #zumbafitness ♬ original sound – Yesi
Airport travelers were more than happy to join her in turning a delay into a moment of joy. One viewer commented, “It’s official. Airports need to hire Zumba instructors for when this happens!” Another said, “I’d legit miss my flight to join this Zumba class.” And one simply shared, “I love this 😭 way to turn something gloomy into a ray of sunshine.”
Even the airport staff got in on the fun. A supportive @delta PA announcer gave the impromptu performance a shout-out, proving that a little music, energy, and heart can turn even the most frustrating moments into something unforgettable.
Yesi’s moves remind us all: sometimes it’s not about the destination, it’s about the joy along the way.
