After nearly three years waiting for a family, Bobby the greyhound finally got his happily-ever-after. On Dec. 30, the ex-racing dog was adopted from Woodside Animal Welfare Trust in the U.K., ending a 1,064-day stay at the shelter.
Bobby instantly clicked with his new owner, Peter Hart, who shared that he “knew he had to bring Bobby home” after seeing him. “When I found out he’d been here for three years, I couldn’t believe it, that’s a long time for a dog to be in kennels,” Hart said.

The sanctuary called Bobby’s adoption “an emotional day at the sanctuary” and celebrated that he’s finally starting a new chapter with a family who loves him.
Now settling in, Bobby is enjoying daily walks and the comfort of a forever home, leaving behind a life of waiting for someone to notice his big heart.
