A woman trying to honor her late son’s memory has captured the hearts of thousands.
When Carolyn Mick arrived at her local grocery store to pick up a cake for her son’s birthday, she was told the cake had already been paid for by an anonymous woman. The woman, who was trying to keep her son’s memory alive, left a note with the cake that read:
“Today is my son’s 35th birthday, his 5th one in heaven,” the note reads. “In his memory, I’ve paid for your cake. Please enjoy, make special memories and hug your children and loved ones tight. My son loved cake!”
The note was signed, “Toni, Tyler’s mom.”
Mick snapped a picture of the heartwarming note and posted it to Facebook to express her gratitude:
“Dear Toni.. you know who you are and I want to express how moved I am. This means so much that my husband and I cried together. With the turmoil of things going on it reminds us of what really matters LIFE!”
The post exploded with positive comments and support for Toni and her son, Tyler. The post eventually made it to the news feed of Toni herself, to which she wrote, “This is Tyler (adding a picture of her son). May God bless your family as you celebrate a loved one’s birthday today. Enjoy!”
And as for the other dozens of comments, Toni replied:
“I’ve been carried all day by these wonderful caring prayers. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. I never dreamed buying a cake would spread so much love and carry my family thru a tough day. So blessed.”
