A Los Angeles musician didn’t miss a beat thanks to a life-changing act of kindness by one of Rock’s most popular bands — Metallica.

Popular local drummer, Sheriff Drumman, performs all around Southern California from the back of a pickup truck rigged with a lighting and sound system.

Last month, Drumman awoke to find that his truck, along with all of his gear, had been stolen. The truck was found within a few days but his drum kit was long gone. The devastated musician reached out to social media in the hopes of crowdfunding a replacement drum set.

Drumman wrote on his GoFundMe page, “I’ve been drumming on the back of my truck driving throughout the city of Los Angeles California traveling to Vegas and every city that hits in between. Putting a smile on people’s faces for the last 5 years Growing my business from complete nothing and to … all of my things are gone.”

A few weeks after starting his GoFundMe, Metallica offered to supply Drumman with a brand-new drum kit.

The band tweeted out “We’re honored to be able to help out a fellow artist. Keep the music going, Sheriff Drumman!”

Drumman expressed his gratitude to the band “Man, thank you guys so much. Thank you for taking the time and the resources to support and help what I do. I love you for that.”

A band rep gave Drumman his new kit on January 18th.
