Making new friends can certainly be a challenging task, especially when moving to a new town. But one Florida couple brought a secret weapon to break the ice and make new friends fast – free beer!

Amanda and Thomas Evans recently moved from Fort Myers, Florida, to Cape Coral, Florida, where they were finding it hard to meet new people.

“It was definitely hard to meet neighbors. Luckily, we have a rescue dog that we walk around the block every day, so we met some people in passing,” Amanda told ABC 7.

But where there’s a will, there’s a way – the couple came up with a brilliant plan to meet their new neighbors after all – set up a tent in the driveway with a sign that reads “Free Beer.”

So, they posted flyers around the neighborhood that said, “Hi, we’re new to the neighborhood and would like to meet our lovely neighbors. We will be in our driveway with drinks, ready to meet any neighbors who would like to stop by. We can’t wait to meet you.”

Apparently, it worked, and the couple made many new friends who welcomed them with open arm – free beer has that effect on people!
“We had such a good time once people started arriving,” Amanda told Majically News.

“I hope others are able to replicate the idea in their communities to bring people together,” she added. (Credit: @amandican and Thomas Evans). Follow @majicallynews for more community love.
