Recently, a couple decided to move up their wedding and hold it in an unusual venue – the hospital where the groom’s mother was being treated.
Chaz Wilburn and his new wife, Amanda Wilburn, were set to get married in January of 2022, but that all changed when the groom’s mother fell critically ill.

Not knowing what the future held, the couple decided to move up their wedding and hold it at the hospital’s chapel so mom could be part of the ceremony.
Chaz said he still can’t believe how perfectly everything came together for his wedding at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Thanks to the hospital’s staff, the couple was able say their “I Dos” during a romantic ceremony inside the hospital’s chapel while his mother, Ajeana Schuler, watched on from her hospital bed.

“They turned a nightmare into a dream, but it really was more than a dream,” 39-year-old Chaz told KDKA. “I was literally speechless for one of the first times in my life.”
“I’m still on an emotional high,” he added. “There’s not a lot of words that I could [use to] describe this feeling. I’m just glad that there are people who are still good in this world. I’m truly blessed.”
And even though Chaz’s mom isn’t currently communicating with words, the couple said they could see the happiness on her face over how she was included in their day.

“They got her hair done and wheeled her down and moved the chapel around so it was easy for them to get her in there,” Amanda said.
“Just my mom being present, let alone being all dressed up, it meant everything,” Chaz also added.
Although it wasn’t what the couple originally had in mind for their special day, they both said it turned out absolutely perfect.
“It was just so perfect. It has been amazing, more amazing than I could have thought it would be,” Amanda said.
