Blake Shelton made a truly magical moment possible for a 6-year-old fan awaiting a heart transplant.
Little Wyatt McKee may be small, but his love of Blake Shelton is huge. In a video posted by his mother, Harley McKee, she revealed he’s been asking if it was time to go to the concert since 6am.
Wyatt arrived at the concert with a handwritten note that said: “Your smallest, biggest fan from Lake Texoma, 6 years old waiting on a heart transplant.”
Wyatt has hypoplastic left heart syndrome, meaning the left side of his heart is critically underdeveloped.
Shelton spotted the sign in the crowd and brought Wyatt up to the stage. He knelt down to the boy and asked if he wanted to sing the next song, God’s Country, with him. The two sang the song together for the cheering audience — Wyatt knew every word.
As Wyatt began walking back to his seat Shelton turned to the crowd and said “Y’all give a big hand for my friend Wyatt!”.
Harley McKee posted the sweet moment after the show, writing: “I don’t know if Blake Shelton will ever see this but I just want to let him know he is awesome and officially my favorite person he absolutely made Wyatt’s day thank you so much to him and everyone who stopped us to tell him how great he was on stage and told him they are praying for him!!! Definitely a night to remember!!! #WyattStrong
Shelton retweeted a video of their duet with the caption: “This little buddy made my night. Thank you for singing ‘God’s Country’ with me Wyatt!”
